What forms of payment do you accept on KOMMETJIE SURF ONLINE SHOP?

You can pay for your online purchase via Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) or via your Smartphone and the FREE Snapscan.
If you choose EFT on the “Checkout Page” to pay for your purchase, kindly follow the payment instructions that appear on the screen after you have clicked on the “Proceed” button. You will find all the necessary information for EFT payment and where to send the proof of payment. Please use “” as the email address to send your proof of payment.
If you choose the free Snapscan App on your smartphone as a form of payment, please select the Snapscan option on the “Checkout Page”; once you proceed the necessary Snapcode scan will appear. Kindly scan the QR Code with your smartphone. It will prompt by asking you to type in the amount to pay. Once you have completed the payment, your order will be processed instantly; you do not need to send an additional proof of payment since the payment will be registered on our system.

Do you ship for free internationally?

No. At this stage we only offer free shipping for orders to be delivered in South Africa.
For international shipping we kindly ask you to contact us on or give us a shout on +27 21 783 4804 . We will help you to process an international order. Once we know where the item that you would like to purchase needs to be sent to, we can work out a delivery quote.

My order was confirmed but I have been contacted that an item is out of stock. How does this happen?

Sometimes it does happen that an online purchase overlaps with a purchase in the shop. We are doing our best to keep the stock levels up to date daily. In the case that is does happen we will contact you immediately and offer either a refund or arrange for a replacement or a solution that fits you best.

How can I track my order?

Orders that have been placed and payment has been confirmed before 2 pm (14.00h)
Orders placed before 2pm AEST on weekdays are shipped that day. You will receive a shipping confirmation email as the order is processed through our despatch system and this email will have a link to Track Your Order. Tracking data will not update until later that night, so don’t be worried if your tracking link doesn’t work right away. We will give you the latest update on the delivery of your order.

How much do you charge for delivery?

Kommetjie Surf Shop offers free South African delivery for all orders except for the delivery of surfboards. We kindly ask you to contact us for a quote before you place your order.  For more details on our shipping policy please visit our shipping page.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders placed and payment confirmation received before 2pm (Mondays to Fridays) local time will be received between 2-5 working days. Our aim is to have the order delivered for you as efficiently as possible.  If you wish to have a quicker delivery or if you would like to chat to us about the deliveries, please give us a call on +27 (0) 21 783 4804 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm | Sat 9am-4pm | Sun 9am-5pm), we will always listen to your needs and make a plan. How do we deliver your products?

The Kommetjie Surf Shop uses the company Dawn Wing for standard delivery and Skynet for 24hr deliveries and international. But we do reserve the right to use other courier companies up to our discretion.  Please do allow for bulky deliveries up to 7 working days; the delivery times may vary from metropolitan areas to regional and / or rural areas).

Do I need to do stay home to accept delivery?

Yes. The courier company deliveries against personal signature. If you will not be present to accept your delivery or you feel that your address is unsafe to have a parcel delivered to, we recommend choosing an alternate address such as your work address. Again, if you have any questions or if you simply want to let us know any particularity about the delivery address please drop us an email to

Can I collect my order at the Kommetjie Surf Shop itself?

OF COURSE!!! And we will feel thrilled to meet you personally and hand you your purchase over with a big smile 🙂  The Kommetjie Surf Shop opens every day as follows: Mondays to Fridays 9am-5pm; Saturdays 9am-4pm and Sundays 9am-3pm. Don’t worry, we will always make a plan so that you get your items delivered soonest.

How do I return a product?

Please kindle follow these simple and hassle free instructions if you need to return a product purchased from us:
THE ITEM TO BE RETURNED MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL PACKET, UNUSED AND UNDAMAGED. For more detailed information please visit our Return Policy page.
Steps to follow:
1. Send us an email with a) invoice number, b) product description and c) a quick note why you would like to return or swap the item; that way we can help you more efficiently. Please do indicate if you want a REFUND  or CREDIT or EXCHANGE.  Please do also indicate / confirm the address where the product has to be picked up.
2. Once we have received your email, we will send our courier company to pick up the product to be returned. Please make sure that the item(s) is (are) packed properly and safely and include the original invoice.
3. Once we receive the product, we will asses it and if everything is correct we will proceed to refund or credit or exchange the product, according to the option that you chose.

Can I work in the Kommetjie Surf Shop?

Sales Assistant

Summer is approaching and the Kommetjie Surf Shop is on the hunt for a new sales assistant. We are a core surf shop that stocks a wide range of surf hardware and apparel. We are passionate about surf, our community and the environment we live in and pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service.

Success in this position entails being a passionate surfer with knowledge of the surf industry and relevant products. We strive to keep our customers happy so it is imperative that you are capable of creating a very positive customer experience.

We are looking for a dynamic surfer with the following attributes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A pro active mindset and effective time management
  • Available to work weekends and public holidays
  • The ability to perform cash control, credit and debit card transaction, management stock control
  • The ability to problem solve and think on your feet
  • Minimum requirements: matric, basic computer skills.
